This site is dedicated to the fine watch manufacturers TOUCHON & Co, and is written and published by me, Paul Wilson who many of you will know from your internet searches to be one of the few people worldwide with any degree of expertise in the brand.                              

I decided to launch the site due to an increasing number of enquiries from watch collectors and enthusiasts seeking information on this fine watch brand, of which little is definitively known or written. The images here should all be clickable to view enlarged versions.

Brief History of Touchon & Co

The Touchon & Co trademark was established around 1907 and ceased in 1921 as an independent entity before being incorporated into a larger company ( Wittnauer ). In their short lifespan, Touchon made watches of a staggeringly high quality. Such high quality was very expensive to produce and very few people could afford them. Tiffany & Co were one their main customers which added to their exclusivity and expensive nature. Touchon watches were every bit as good as Patek Philippe and much more exclusive as they were only produced for 14 years.... After the incorporation with Wittnauer, watch production continued for a few years under Wittnauer supervision, but these watches were built down to a price and no match for 'pure' Touchons. In the end, demand ceased and the name simply vanished into history.

I still have a lot more information and images to add, but as I do this in my spare time, it sometimes takes a while for things to appear, so please check back often.

To give you some idea of the exclusive nature of Touchon watches, their pocket watches when new, were advertised at 2 or 3 times the price of Agassiz equivalents and 5 or 6 times the price of Longines examples. Some of the Touchon ladies platinum and diamond watches cost $2000 !!!! This was an enormous sum of money for 1930 and gives a clue as to why not many were ever actually sold.
